Built around one question
Every excavation, every core, every drilled wall begins with the same question: what's actually down there? For too long the honest answer was a best guess, and guesses on site cost time, money and, sometimes, safety.
Norse Radar was founded to replace that guesswork with evidence. We focus exclusively on ground-penetrating radar: the instruments, the antennas and the software that together turn faint reflected pulses into a clear picture of the ground. That single-minded focus is deliberate. Radar is not a sideline for us. It is the whole of what we do.
The result is equipment engineered by people who understand both the physics of the signal and the realities of the field: the rain, the rubble and the deadline. Precision instruments, made practical.
Founded by an RF engineer
Norse Radar was founded by Doctor Bjorn Thorbjornsen, an RF engineer with over 20 years' experience in Radio Frequency (RF) electronics design, development and product manufacture. Bjorn has a PhD in RF Electronics from the University of Southampton and worked several years in the electronics industry prior to founding Norse Radar Limited.
Bjorn carried out research and development of GPR systems while working with Vincent Utsi, Director of Utsi Electronics, from 2016 until Vincent's passing in 2020.
